Privacy and Data Consent Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. We do not collect any privacy information from our users unless they explicitly agree to share such information with us.

Where do we access user data?

In all apps

Bug Reports

What is collected	User’s email address, locale, software version/name, device firmware version, and a portion of the device log.
Usage	Direct customer support and service quality analysis.
Third Parties	Google GMail and Help Scout. Processing takes place in the USA.
Retention	Kept for the lifetime of the app (as long as it is publicly offered).

Ads (Personalized)

We use your Device Advertising ID to serve ads via Facebook Audience Network. We do not store ad-related data on our premises. You can opt-out in Settings > Privacy > Don’t personalize ads.

In Sleep as Android

Usage Analytics

Collected data is completely anonymous and cannot be traced back to the subject. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to monitor screen usage and in-app events.

Cloud Backup Services

Google Drive & Dropbox

The app creates a zip file of sleep records and settings (excluding sound files) to a specific folder. The app only has access to its own folder and no other content on your storage.

SleepCloud

SleepCloud is a platform owned by Urbandroid for backing up sleep data. All stored data is anonymous. Users access their own data through a one-way hashing function via Google OAuth.

Data Collected:

Start/end times, country, sleep cycles, deep sleep %, comments, city-level location (geo-cell).
Noise levels, subjective ratings, snoring %, and timestamped events (alarms, awake times).

Modification: You can delete all data via the privacy tab at sleepcloud.urbandroid.org.

Third-Party Integrations

Google Fit & Health Connect

We use these to export sleep sessions and import resting HR or SpO2 data. We do not use this data for anything other than declared user-directed functions.

Fit Scopes: Fitness.SESSIONS_API, Fitness.HISTORY_API, FITNESS_ACTIVITY_READ_WRITE.
Health Connect Permissions: RestingHeartRateRecord, OxygenSaturationRecord, SleepSessionRecord, SleepStageRecord.

Google Calendar

Used to export sleep events or read your primary/holiday calendars to advance or postpone alarms based on events (start, end, and title fields).

Location Retrieval

Twilight: Accesses location in the background to react to local sunrise/sunset. Data never leaves the device.
Air: Retrieves location regularly to notify users of pollutant levels. Data is used for querying but not stored.
Sleep as Android: Stores coarse geo-cell location (~+/-10km) locally.

Data Protection & Limited Use

Data stored locally is protected by standard Android OS means. If sent to SleepCloud, data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored anonymously. We handle Health Connect data according to the Limited Use clause; we do NOT sell user data to 3rd parties.
