We do not collect any privacy information from our users unless they explicitly agree to share such information with us.

Where do we access user data?

In all apps

Bug reports

• What is collected: The bug report contains the user’s email address, his locale, version and name of the used software, device firmware version and a portion of the device log.
• Sending of a debug report requires user action (needs to be explicitly send from the user’s mail application) and user may review all the information before sending and decide whether they want to share it with us or not.
• We do not ask for explicit consent as we consider collecting bug report data via email to be a legitimate interest under GDPR.
• How it is used by us: We use information enclosed in the bug report to provide direct customer support and to help improve the quality of our services and applications and analyse.
• Third parties involved: We use Google GMail (email service) and Help Scout (email helpdesk service) to handle and store email and bug reports. Place of processing is USA.
• How to modify or delete the information: Request modification or deletion on our email.
• How to opt-out from future communications: Sending of a debug report requires user action, so there is no need to opt out. We aren’t initiating any communication by ourselves.
• Data retention: The bug reports and conversations related to an app are kept for the lifetime of the app.

Ads (personalized)

• What is collected & how it is used by us: We are using only your Device Advertising ID to serve ads via Facebook Audience Network. We don’t store any data related to ads on our premises.
• Third parties involved: Facebook Audience Network – an advertising service provided by Facebook, Inc.
• How to opt-out: Opt out in Sleep as Android via Settings > Privacy > Don’t personalize ads.

Data backup (Android framework)

• Urbandroid offers data backup through Android’s data backup framework. Android’s data backup framework uses whichever backup transport is available on the device.
• Urbandroid does not have access to the backed up data.
• What is collected: All user-generated app data (including user settings) except files are subject to backup.
• How to opt-out: Backup can be disabled in system settings.

In Sleep as Android

Usage analytics

• What is collected: All analytics data collected are completely anonymous. We collect device and app usage data – which screens and options are used, and log occurrence of certain in-app events.
• How it is used by us: To understand how users engage with our apps and to help improve quality.
• Third parties involved: Google Analytics for Firebase.
• How to opt-out: Enable Settings > Privacy > Don’t collect anonymous usage stats.

Data backup (Google Drive / Dropbox)

• What is collected: All user-generated app data (sleep records and settings) except recorded sound files.
• How it is used by us: Zip file is uploaded to a dedicated folder. The app has only access to this specific folder and no other content.

SleepCloud

• SleepCloud is a cloud backup platform owned by Urbandroid.
• What is collected: All stored data are completely anonymous. It collects: Country, language, preferences, device model, sleep record details (start/end time, sleep cycles, deep sleep %, noise level, etc.).
• Third parties involved: Google Cloud Platform (Datastore).
• How to delete: After logging in at sleepcloud.urbandroid.org, use the privacy tab to delete data.

Google Fit & Health Connect

• What is collected: Sleep data, sport activities, movement activities, heart rate data, and SPO2 data.
• How it is used: Only for the declared user-directed function.
• Limited use: Sleep as Android handles Health Connect data according to the Limited use clause. We do NOT provide or sell user data to 3rd parties.

Location

• We do not read location unless absolutely necessary (e.g., Twilight for sunrise/sunset, Air for pollutant levels).
• Sleep as Android: Stores a very coarse geo cell (~+/-10km) to compare sleep quality in different locations. This can be disabled in Settings > Privacy.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our services, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
